Teachers

Did you know that they've invented something way worse than the atomic bomb? I'll give you a second to get the children out of the room... That's long enough. The one thing that's worse than the atomic bomb (To children) are: Teachers. Every person has atleast one or two teachers they absolutely despised during their years of school. Whether it's the cranky old type who scolds you for absolutely no reason, or the odd-ball ones that creep you out. Everybody's got a teacher preference of who should teach them. I always wondered why teachers chose to be teachers. The most common excuse would be "Because I enjoy teaching" or "Because I like kids". Once, when I asked my math teacher, who was one of those honest and straight-forward types, he replied with "Because the pay is better than most jobs". My mind was just plain blown. I gained new found respect for teachers and their jobs after that. Don't get me wrong, I still hate the idea of going to school for six hours and sitting through lecture after lecture from them, but atleast I somewhat understand why they do it. Still doesn't excuse the fact that they're part of the education system that imprisons kids for the better half of a day.
So now you're thinking that I have something against school and teachers... And you're right. I mean, come on! Who in their right mind actually likes getting up at 7 o' clock every morning and listen to some person talk endlessly about Columbus this and Renaissance that. To be honest, I don't think even the teachers are into it; they always seem bored and distant during class, but they put on a happy face and pretend that they're excited about reading a mountain of essays about some book they've probably read a million times already. I think the constant cup of coffee they drink every morning helps. Either that, or teachers are some of the best actors in the world. I shouldn't blame the teachers since they're only doing their jobs, but they're still a major factor to why kids hate school. There are some teachers who are cool and fun, but a majority of teachers are hated. They always seem to pick the worst days to assign a ten page homework. It's as if all the teachers got together and decided on screwing us kids over by assigning a ton of homework on the exact same day. I'd love to type more, but I've already reached 400 words and don't feel the need to do extra, so good-bye. =D
