Why should kids have to go to school? What's the point of locking us up in a classroom for the better part of a day? Wouldn't it be better if we didn't go to school and stuck around the house, helping with chores and housework? I'm just kidding. When given a choice between school and housework, most teens would choose neither, and spend their whole day sitting on the couch watching TV and stuffing their faces with soda and chips. I believe that the school system was invented to force kids out of their houses and into a six hour prison just so their parents could be free of their kids for a good portion of the day. I asked my mother if it was true, and she said yes.
Studies have shown that a student spends about 35 hours at school during a week, and about 12 hours doing homework.
Another 66 hours are spent sleeping, which leaves about 50 hours of free time for the student to do anything he wants. Of course, you need to take into account time eating and extracurricular activities, so we'll just say that the student will only have 40 hours. That's 40 hours to live life as a regular kid; to have fun, to play games, to hang out. A couple years from now, most of those kids will think back to their childhood and the first thing that comes to mind: school. If kids are so focussed on school and homework, they won't have anytime to explore the world and learn the basics of life. I mean sure, we get to learn new stuff and get a piece of paper with a letter ranging from A to F on it, but at what price? Half the things people learn in school are useless in the merciless reality we call life. Many things in this world are earned by hard work, not by how many digits of Pi you can remember, or how well you can add atomic masses. I highly doubt you can use mathematics to help you fix a car unless you're calculating how much you're gonna have to pay the mechanic.
Whether you agree with me or disagree, you know nothing good can come from sitting on your ass all day in a classroom being bored out of your mind.

Your mom said "Yes!" Wow.
