Statement of Purpose

It's my second year of highschool and I'm still nervous about English. Every year I write about random things like classes and odd topics that I have a strong opinion on. This year, I hope to stay focused on a single topic and write about my experiences traveling around the world. I also hope to change the fixed way I write and focus more on the writing instead of worrying myself about the topic.

My first Goal this year is to begin writing about my memories and experiences in other countries and foreign nations. By setting this as my goal, I hope to make my writing more consistent and interesting. Another reason I chose this goal was because I had alot of fun memories visiting cool places such as the Eiffel Tower or Berlin, but I never could get them down on paper. I'm sure there are people who enjoy traveling as much as I do and would want to read about my trips.

The other goal I want to work on is changing the way I write. Every writing I've ever done was open-ended; in which I would just get a piece of paper and begin writing whatever my muse told me to. Be cause of this, I can only write well when I have no restrictions or limitations on what or how I write; which means I'm dead in the water if I have to write accordingly to a frame or format. Every organized writing I have ever done would have me sitting at my desk staring at a blank piece of paper and sweating about how the writing should be formatted.

Finally, I hope that writing like this over the course of this year would help me acheive my goals and provide others with some reading on the culture and diversity of other countries and places.
